Are You Living the Life You've Imagined? If Not, Let Me Support You To Start Living That Life Today!
My name is Steve Wrigley and I help individuals and couples who are within five years of retirement and/or recently retired, develop a rewarding and fulfilling retirement / Third Act life that is even more rewarding than their First and Second Acts in life. Together we will discover and define your Third Act dream /vision and develop a specific plan on how to achieve it. If you desire, I can support you in the process of implementing your plan to help you make the rest of your life the best of your life.
As your coach, my job is to help you articulate your dreams, desires, and aspirations, help you clarify your mission, purpose, and goals, helping you achieve the outcomes your desire.
- My clients usually come to coaching to do things differently or to do different things. They want to set goals, come up with plans, get into action, and use the accountability of coaching to stay on track. My job is to make this happen.
As a Retirement Transition, Relationship and Encore Career Coach, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. Helping you make radical improvements in your life and relationships is my focus.
I provide support and guidance for transforming the issues that stand in the way of you achieving your goals. Whether you want coaching to help you to achieve a specific outcome or wish to enhance all areas of your life or relationship, I can help you get there faster.
The power of coaching is that it amplifies strengths; accelerates learning and self-discovery; promotes clarity; creativity and choice; builds capacity and positivity. Coaching supports people to achieve and often exceed their goals more quickly and efficiently than they would without the partnership of a coach.
The focus of our coaching session are the development and implementation of strategies to help you reach your identified goals of life balance, strong relationships, and personal satisfaction. Our coaching may address specific personal projects, relationship enhancement, life balance, career, job performance and satisfaction, non-financial retirement planning or improving general conditions in your life, family, business, or profession.
Our sessions will utilize personal strategic planning, values clarification, brainstorming, motivational techniques, and other helping techniques. Though I am there to support you throughout the process, you are responsible for your actions and choices.
You will set the agenda and the success of the enterprise depends on your willingness to take risks and try new approaches. The coaching relationship is designed to be more direct and challenging. You can count on me to be honest and straightforward, asking powerful questions and using challenging techniques to move you forward. You are expected to evaluate progress and when coaching is not working as you wish, you should immediately inform me so together you and I can both take steps to correct the problem.
My primary job is to help you set and achieve personal life goals. Such goals can be relevant to your job, retirement, personal life, marriage, family, or interpersonal relationships.
If you're committed to creating a more fulfilling and meaningful life, I look forward to working with you. Contact me today for a COMPLEMENTARY CONSULTATION and start your journey toward achieving your dreams and living a life you love!
As a Life Coach, I specialize in the following areas:
What is Non-financial Retirement Coaching and Would I Benefit? Retirement transition coaching enables individuals to make a smooth transition from their current or recent employee role into their new lifestyle. Each person’s process is different. While some people seem to be naturally "good" at being retired, for others to attain a fulfilling retirement requires some deliberate soul searching, and hinges in large part on concepts entirely unrelated to money.
Whether you are five or ten years away from retirement, actively planning for it, or already retired, you may benefit from the benefits of a retirement coach. Statistics show that within two years after retiring, many individuals will encounter issues if they have not clearly defined this new phase of their lives.
Retirement transition coaching is a process with tangible tools, written documents, and thoughtful discussions. One of the biggest reasons why people fail at retirement is because they don’t have a plan for the non-financial aspects of it. As your Coach, I will help you see retirement for what it truly is by taking you through a written, proven process to help you replace your work identity, allocate you time and resources, stay relevant and connected, as well as mentally and physical active.
I often find new retirees making a common error: they mistake the joy of being retired with being fulfilled in retirement. After the euphoria of, “Yay! I don’t have to go to work today!” wears off, recent retirees often feel an overall sense of loss. Common feelings are: 1) A lack of social interaction, 2) A lack of purpose, 3) A feeling you’ve reached your peak and are no longer needed, and 4) A feeling of being disconnected from society. When I dig deeper with clients who have been retired a year or more, I often discover a life that’s void of true fulfillment and purpose.
As your coach, I will work with you to address your concerns, create new opportunities, and consolidate changes in your new life. Transitioning to retirement is one of the most stressful life events and a retirement coach can be an invaluable partner in making the retirement you envision a reality.
I will work with you to inventory all your gifts, interests, passions, clarify your vision, expand your thinking, discover new possibilities, and help you develop strategies for your life in retirement. I will work with you on a 1-1 basis or in groups to help you design a plan for the major changes you will experience. I will help you learn to hold yourself accountable to stay on your chosen course. Together we will design your next chapter, whether you want to pursue an early retirement, create a Second Act Career, or build a life of meaningful activities in retirement.
Retirement transition coaching has two important benefits: 1) You avoid emotionally and financially costly mistakes of putting off figuring out how to spend your time, where to live, and finding ways to best use the rest of your life. 2) Coaching helps you make a plan and speeds up the process of getting it right the first time.
Don't just retire from your old life; retire to a new life. Never fully retire. Create a fulfilling and rewarding Third Act for your life. My goal is to help you to Reinvent your retirement years through individual retirement coaching, or my "Don't Just Retire, Refire!" and "Purpose Driven Retirement" coaching groups / workshops. My objective is to help you develop, design, and live a Purpose Driven Retirement to enabling you to THRIVE during your retirement years.
What Exactly is Relationship Coaching?
Relationship Coaching is a life coaching specialization that helps people find greater fulfillment in their personal relationship. This is especially important in your Third Act where the transition from employment to retirement often causes a decline, hopefully temporary, in psychological well-being and marital satisfaction.
For some couples, the stress of retirement can add to already existing marital problems making or make new ones with the pressures and trails of creating a new retirement life. Don’t let your relationship become part of the Gray Divorce phenomenon. Relationship coaching during retirement can help you prepare for this transition so that the decline can be minimal, short lived, or even completely absent. As you move into retirement, you may need to redefining roles in your marriage or desire to enhance your marriage in your Third Act.
I can help you set relationship goals for your Third Act, better understand your current partnership, thrive inside your marriage, grieve a loss of a partner, or take your long-term romance to the next level by creating your own relationship vision. I can also help clients who are not currently in a relationship develop the relationship they have always desired.
As a relationship coach, I take healthy people and couples and make them high performing. I can help you discover what they want out of your partnership, guide you around painful issues in retirement, and create a safe place as you face your fears and discovered your Third Act relationships. I believe my clients to be healthy, powerful, and able to achieve relationship goals with effective support, information, and guidance.
My role, as your coach, is to facilitate your learning and discovery to find your own answers. I may need to strategize or brainstorm with you or offer ideas, but these ideas are not proposed as solutions. These ideas are offered as possibilities. In coaching, we are both equal. There is no superior knowledge or treatment plan; my role is to be present for you to help you articulate your concerns, define your ideal future, develop your plan and support you in making your dreams come true.
